Brentwood School Preparatory 33 House Swimming Galas Girls’ Swimming Gala Although I was terrified of coming last I still found the courage to not think too negatively. I wished I would do well and swim as fast as I could so at least I could come in the top three. At last we were told to go and follow the teacher. We took off to the senior school because that was where the swimming gala was being held. When we got there above our head we could see the amazing sight, your parents cheering you on and when I finally saw my own mum I was much more comfortable. In the end I actually came 1st, 1st and then 3rd ! After we found out all the scores I found out that Heseltine (the house I’m in) came 2nd, it was very close between us and Quennell (another house that came in front of us only by about a few points). After that Mrs Woodford pronounced the winners and the people received their trophies and all the other awards. We got sent to the changing rooms and got changed into our own school uniforms and when we got back from the senior school we waited until our parents picked us up from school.
