Brentwood School Preparatory A Fly on the Wall - Reception People Who Help Us The children settled in learning about people who help us at school starting with Mr Lincoln who had to help us remove the hoops from the tree. The children had great fun guessing how they had got there in the first place. We also met Matron who reassured the children that she was there to look after them if ever they were poorly at school. We also had a visit from WPC Shepherd-Lang and really enjoyed trying her uniform on and noticing how heavy it was. While learning about People Who Help Us the children were delighted to meet Matron and find out how she can help them when injured or feeling poorly at school. The children willingly volunteered to be pretend patients! 42 Moving Along Our Moving Along topic started with a bike day when all the children brought bikes and scooters to school. They used the cameras to photograph themselves and their friends and had great fun zooming across the playground. Later that term we performed Our First Nativity, taking the lead roles for the first time. Frozen The Lent term had a frosty start and we returned to school to find that many of our toys and tools had been frozen. The classrooms had become winter wonderlands and we enjoyed the opportunity to make real snowmen when the snow arrived unexpectedly. Out of Eggs We found out about all of the animals that hatch from eggs for this topic. The children watched in awe and wonder as five little ducklings hatched in the classroom and were even more delighted when they gave them their first swim.
