Brentwood School Preparatory 20 Elliot Lee From the world of sport, Elliot Lee - professional footballer. Elliot began his footballing career as a prolific goal scorer under the expert coaching of our very own Mr Matthams. From the Prep football pitches, he went on to play for clubs such as West Ham United, Colchester United, Southend United and most recently, Luton Town. Was there a particular teacher you remember and why? Mr Haskett was always renowned for being a scary teacher but he wasn’t as bad as his reputation. He was actually really funny and a really good man! I also had good relationships with the sports teachers Mr Matthams, Mr Brazier and Mr Freeman and they made my time playing sport for Brentwood very enjoyable! What is your favourite memory of Brentwood Prep School? We won a football tournament and I scored a couple of goals (I think) and some of the school came to watch. I can’t remember what year I was in but it was played at Arsenal’s academy. That was a good day. I used to love House Football too. It was always a massive competition at the school and we always used to win! Did you ever have to visit the Headmaster’s office? Not for anything bad that I remember! Maybe for winning a football tournament! Which house were you in? Lawrence, the best house! What type of pupil were you? I like to think I was a good pupil! I was always told to try my best and that’s all I could do, so that’s what I did. I liked to have a laugh with my mates and the teachers but I also liked to work hard too. What words of wisdom would you have for pupils at Brentwood Prep today? Enjoy it. It’s an amazing school and I’m very grateful to have attended Brentwood throughout my school years. I met some great people and made friends for life. Give your best every day with a smile on your face and have fun!
