Brentwood School Preparatory 25 Friends of Brentwood School Uniform More than 1250 African schoolchildren have been kitted out with school uniform courtesy of the Friends of Brentwood School (FoBS). The uniform shipment, weighing in at a staggering 1.5 tons and coordinated by The King’s Family Centre (TKFC) in Romford, has now been distributed far and wide among the many centres the House of Wells operates across the continent. The House of Wells Enrichment Centres is a non- profit making organisation which aims to ‘restore hope, dignity and release the potential of children and youth in Africa.’ Mrs Rebecca Eastwood, who had the task of sifting through donated uniform and putting together sets of clothing for the 1250-plus children, said: “It took a while to ship and distribute among the many centres the House of Wells operates in Africa but over 1250 children have smiles on their faces as a result.” Thank you to FoBS and our supportive parents for raising the money for • Event shelter gazebos for the Prep • Outdoor bikes/trikes for Reception • Prep 7-11 external table tennis tables • FoBS branded welcome teddies for new Nursery children Thank you to everyone who supported the Friends of Brentwood School Christmas Fayre 2018. Mrs M Kriel, FoBS Secretary The Christmas Fayre The Friends of Brentwood School Christmas Fayre was a huge success and well supported by the school community. It was a festive day, enjoyed by both young and old. The Fayre started off with festive songs from the chamber choir and the Year Two choir. Then Santa and his elves made their appearance, and they were kept busy by the many young visitors who enjoyed receiving a present from them. Over 20 external stalls exhibited again this year, they sold a wide variety of products, perfect for last minute Christmas shopping before the school holidays started. The children enjoyed the many new games that were on offer and went home with exciting prizes. A new addition to the Fayre, which proved to be very popular, was “Santa’s Workshop” where the children participated in decorating beautiful Christmas baubles to take home. Thank you to all the children who participated in the “Christmas jar competition”. All the jars were beautifully and creatively decorated and the “win a jar tombola” was by far the most popular stall at the Fayre. Whilst the children had fun, the adults enjoyed a bacon roll in the dining room. What a brilliant start to the festive season! The Friends of Brentwood School raised £1,340.
