A Fly On The Wall - Nursery Our first topic in the Michaelmas Term focused on thinking about ourselves and our family. We talked about our favourite foods, toys, colours, stories and songs. This was an important term for the Nursery children for settling in, making friends and learning the names of other children. We talked about and looked closely at the letters in the names of the children and noticed similarities and differences. All About Me During the Lent Term we learnt about the weather. We noticed daily changes in the weather. We used our senses to investigate and went outside to observe and experience different types of weather. We were fortunate to experience lots of different types of weather during the term from rain, sun and snow to some very windy days too! Whatever the Weather We learnt about the world around us during Trinity Term. We continued to talk about and notice the weather. We looked at plants, trees and wildlife. We noticed similarities and differences between flowers, trees, plants and leaves. We talked about and observed how plants grow and grew plants at home from seeds. We spent lots of time talking about gardens and listening to stories set in gardens, woods and outdoor spaces. We visited our school woods for a Forest School session. We visited RHS Garden Hyde Hall to learn about ‘our living world’ and used our senses to discover the world around us. How Does Your Garden Grow? During the year we enjoyed many different experiences. We went for a listening walk around the walled garden and enjoyed playing outside with autumn leaves. 40 Brentwood School Preparatory
