Brentwood Preparatory School Incipe 2017-18

A Fly On The Wall - Reception Brentwood School Preparatory 42 What a wonderful year Reception have had. We began by making the most of the warm September sunshine by working outside as much as we could. Tasty treats were enjoyed during the Michaelmas term when the children learnt to butter bread and use their knife and fork correctly. We had some tricky problems during the term, especially when Goldilocks left her porridge oats all around the classroom! The children were very surprised when Daddy Bear sent them a video message to catch the naughty rascal but soon rose to the challenge making posters to help find Goldilocks. It all ended well though with a classroom café. The children took turns to write menus, take orders, prepare all the food and be the customers. It was a super treat! After reading the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch stories the children loved hearing about the antics of Mr Grinling and his wife. The children made delicious treats just like the ones in the story and placed them in their baskets. Then the children were set the challenge of moving the basket from one place to another as if it was travelling over the sea. The children showed many key skills such as determination and perseverance to complete the challenge and we were impressed by their team work and ingenuity.
