Brentwood School Preparatory 5 A Message from the Headmaster Incipe 2018 comes to you at a pivotal moment in the Prep School’s history. We have received planning permission to extend the school and work is well underway to modernise our facilities to such a degree that we will be the envy of most schools. There will be some disruption, some dust and decant but stick with us as the end product will be simply stunning. Like all things at Brentwood, the need for development revolves around the needs of the pupils and the education they receive. So what will the new development mean for the children? They can expect brand new state of the art science, technology, art and music rooms with a greater emphasis on the teaching of STEM subjects in a space that we are calling ‘The Futures Room’. There will also be a brand new building housing EYFS pupils and a wonderful new nursery space which will allow us to provide the very best in nursery education and keep options for those who’d like to start their children’s education with the flexibility of sessions and full days. Other areas will be refurbished to include vastly improved facilities and resources for Modern Foreign Languages. The architects have also done everything in their power to make the landscaping and pathways far more aligned with access routes being far more straightforward than we currently have. The development will also give huge improvements to the more practical elements of school life with a brand new dining facility with food cooked in wonderful new kitchens at the Prep. There will be a new multi-use hall space with the capacity to house large scale events as well as whole school and specific Key Stage assemblies. The sporting life of the school will be enhanced with two large indoor areas and new changing facilities. All in all, it is fair to say that we are very excited and please rest assured that you will be kept abreast of the issues as this wonderful new dawn approaches. Mr Jason Whiskerd Headmaster
