Brentwood Preparatory School Incipe 2017-18

Brentwood School Preparatory 56 A Fly On The Wall - Year Four Year Four took a quiz to look at their carbon footprints. Some people were surprised and shocked to discover that they had extremely high carbon footprints and some were pleased to find that they were very friendly to the environment! They then considered ways to reduce their carbon footprint to help look after our environment and reduce global warming. Camping In Enrichment Week the whole of Year 4 got to go camping! The playground sounded like roaring lions it was so noisy! I was bursting with excitement! At last we got onto the field and met our kind instructors, I liked mine! Finally we found out what had all been waiting for ……… we found out who we got to share a tent with! I shared mine with EDIE!!! After that we did a few activities in the woods! My favourite was making the fire! A few minutes later we had dinner. I had couscous. Soon after we went to sleep. The next day we had breakfast, I had cereal and a drink! Next we did the shipwreck challenge, we came joint first! It was a great two days and I loved it! Last of all my Mum collected me and I told her how fun it was! I could not have had a better time! The whole of Year 4 got their bags and set off to stay at the school for a night. We all met our team leader. We then played games, it was very fun. Then we found out who our camping mates would be. My camping mates were Austin, Ruben and Kiran. We put up our tent and unpacked. We went with our team leader and did some activities - we started with how to make a fire, we did this in the wood. Then we did navigation and after that we had lunch. Then we did a couple of other activities. It was getting dark and everybody was getting tired so we made dinner. It was rice, couscous and vegetable stew. We had good night’s sleep and in the morning we had breakfast. After that we did a shipwreck test, I had to pretend I was knocked out and my team had to save me. When my Mum and I arrived at big beautiful Brentwood school to take me camping I was so excited. I nearly screamed especially when I saw all the bags (well to be honest I had a gigantic suitcase that was really heavy to pull along). After we put our bags plus my suitcase in the Dining Hall we went upstairs to get registered to check who’s here for Camping. Once we got that done we watched hilarious Pixar videos till 09:10 which was not that long. Next we went to the green, pretty field with our bags and then we went to the admin area for juice and biscuits and got told which groups we were in, I was in group 4. Next we played some games. We played ants and anteaters, we also played a game where we ran and crawled through people’s legs. When we finished our games we were told our tent mates, mine were Amelia and Sore. On Tuesday morning, after sleeping in our tents, we had shipwreck which was navigation, fire lighting, shelter building, camouflage and first aid which we learnt on Monday. My most favourite thing was camouflage because we used paint sticks and got to hide and I lasted really long and I didn’t want to go home though it had a comfy bed and nice dinners. Enrichment Week
