Brentwood Preparatory School Incipe 2017-18
Brentwood School Preparatory 57 A Fly On The Wall - Year Four Cooking On Thursday, 24th May we had cooking. That week was Enrichment Week (the best week in the year). Firstly, we went in the D.T room to wash our hands. After we washed our hands, we went into the science room to start cooking. The chef introduce himself, and his son, Ashley and Jamie. After that he pointed out the spice captains. I was one!!!!!! We started cooking, because I was a spice captain I got to hand round the spices and put them into a pan, my table cut the vegetables. When we put all of the spices into the pan, Ashley made this vegetable water and we put it into a pan, the rice absorbed the water. Ding! The food is ready, we start to eat it. It was delicious!!! I hope I can make this food again. Languages When it was Enrichment Week we did lots of fun things but the activity I’m going to write about is…Languages! “Come in, come in,” said Mrs Rodgers, cheerfully. The excited children strode in, (they stumbled a little because everybody was rushing). “Children, listen up,” said Mrs Rodgers. Immediately, the children went quiet. “Now, today we are going to do some paper cutting,” she announced. Mrs Rodgers then handed out these red sheets with half a fish printed on it. After that, she asked us to fold the sheet containing the fish in half long ways. The final step was to cut along the printed fish line. When we finished cutting, Mrs Rodgers told us to unfold our piece of paper and…TADAA! We did the same for a butterfly and a Chinese word. The word said Shwen in English. Then we learnt how professional paper cutters make intricate designs with papers that are different colours. Soon it was time to go to the next activity. But the good thing was that I got some house points. Hooray! Guitar In Enrichment Week we did a lesson on guitars! I have guitar lessons in school so I was very excited for the lesson. The guitarist who was taking the lesson for us was called Matt. The lesson was in the Drama studio. Matt showed us the notes to play our first tune together. The notes were: A, B, C and E. We played the tune and had lunch. After lunch we played the tune again and did another 2 tunes with the same notes and 2 more D and low E. After that we did some games and Mr Barber said that we can have lessons on guitar at school or at his house. Surprisingly, Max found an ant in his guitar. An A-N-T! Everyone burst out laughing. Once all of us had calmed down Mr Edwards had to get the ant out. He reached into a guitar and pull an ant out! I thought that it was very fun and exciting. I hope he comes next Enrichment Week in Year 5!!
