Brentwood Preparatory School Incipe 2017-18

Brentwood School Preparatory 62 A Fly On The Wall - Year Five Harry Potter World When I heard, for Enrichment week, we were going to Harry Potter Studios, I felt excited and a bit upset since I had never watched a Harry Potter film. I didn’t know what to expect. I had only read one book, which I did enjoy, but the studio is where they do the filming not the writing As soon as we arrived, I saw a gigantic sign reading Harry Potter Studios, and underneath that , The Making Of Harry Potter. Suddenly I felt the excitement bubbling up inside me. The entrance was massive. Something caught the corner of my eye. There was a gigantic poster of Hogwarts, the school that Harry and his friends, Hermione, my favourite, and Ron went to. There were canoes with the students rowing their boats, and a thousand lights that lit up Hogwarts in the night sky. I only realised then, that we were going to have a lesson on Harry Potter too. So we headed off to a classroom which contained silicone masks, hands, and, ears. During this time we learnt about the cost of making a film, it was very expensive, the different roles people had to take not just acting, but designer, artists, and tonnes more. We also learnt about the different actors that were there at that very moment. As we excitedly began our tour, we entered the Grand Hall, where the whole school had their food. It was filled with candles, and plates, and, cutlery, and pictures and the seats where Professor Dumbledore, Mcgonagall, Snape, Quirrell and the professor sat. We saw the boys’ dormitory, the forbidden forest, Hagrid’s hut, Privet Drive, the flying letters, the Hogwarts train, how, and where they make the creatures, e.g goblins. We got to take photos of my group riding broomsticks, the car when it got bashed into the tree, the huge model of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, the bank, and the wand collection. It was amazing. I had a really good time, and since then I’ve become a big Harry Potter fan and watched two movies, and really want to watch the rest. I recommend you read or watch Harry Potter, it’s really great, and greatly recommend you go to the Harry Potter studios, it’s amazing. On Monday we went to Harry Potter World at Warner Brothers Studios. We were travelling by coach, it took one and a half hours to get there so I sat and stared out of the window thinking of how exciting it would be when we arrived. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck with excitement as we all rushed for the door. We were finally here, inside the ACTUAL dining hall! There were roaring fires at each end of the hall, stone floors and walls and a huge table stacked high with a feast fit for a wizard. We walked to Diagon Alley, it was just like it was in the movies, multiple shops lining the street selling wands, books and strange wizard sweets. We finished the tour by gazing at the collosal model of the Hogwarts castle. I really loved the tour, it was amazing to be there and I was very thankful to the teachers for taking us.
