Brentwood Preparatory School Incipe 2017-18
77 Brentwood School Preparatory Science Competition and Senior School Exhibition Science On 25th November a Science exhibition, organised by Mrs Pamela Ebden at the senior school, was held in the new BACS building. Local schools were invited to hold a competition themed ‘Magic Science’ which Year Five and Six pupils could enter. At the Prep School we had over 30 projects entered into the competition, ranging from crystal growing and light refraction to the wonder of electricity and its discovery by the Ancient Greeks. The standard of the projects and the enthusiasm shown was exceptional, every project was very impressive and captured the theme of ‘Magic Science’ really well. It was a difficult decision for Mr Whiskerd to choose from the wonderful variety of models, posters, PowerPoint presentations and experiments but, after much deliberation, 2 projects were chosen to be entered into the Science Exhibition. Sophie built a magnificent working model and presented her project about defeating an evil wizard using the force from her ‘Terrifying Trebuchet’. Emily and Chloe presented a fascinating insight into echolocation and its many uses, with an investigation and a super display. All three girls were congratulated by Mrs Ebden and received commendation certificates.
