20 BigPitch The Dr Sridevi Kalidindi CBE Consultant Psychiatrist, South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust Dr Sridevi Kalidindi is a Consultant Psychiatrist and previous Associate Medical Director at the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust and Visiting Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. She is currently the National Clinical Lead for Mental Health Rehabilitation for the Getting It Right First Time programme with NHS England and Improvement. Sri is also a Leadership and Executive Coach and with her clinical background in psychiatry, she supports leaders to transform to their next levels of ability. Sri is developing three med tech startups. These are based in the Health and Wellbeing and mental health space. She is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of the nation and beyond. The Health and Wellbeing Club is developing products that optimise health and wellbeing and thriving in all aspects of one’s life. Sri is experienced in adult psychiatric clinical care, innovative clinical service development, contracting, research, teaching and training, policy, media presence, strategy and system leadership. Sri was awarded ‘Psychiatrist of the Year 2017- 18’ by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and continues to be a spokesperson for the College, strongly advocating for good mental health services, for the population. She was honoured with a CBE in 2019 for services to Rehabilitation Psychiatry. https://livewellmastermind.com Dr Kyle Stewart GP Partner and CEO and Founder of Watercress Research Ltd Kyle is a GP in South Devon and CEO and Co- Founder of Watercress Research. He has recently submitted a patent on a novel mechanism for the extraction of clinically useful urease inhibitors from watercress, which could form the basis for novel medicines against a range of diseases. His ongoing phytochemical research has led to the recent discovery of a new species of bacteria in the UK, and a mechanism for manipulating plant host defence mechanisms to trigger production of isothiocyanates which are being extensively investigated for their beneficial role in epigenetic regulation of cancers and anti-inflammatory properties. His portfolio of work could well lead to a new adjunctive therapy in cancer treatment, a new antibiotic and a cure for nappy rash! Alongside this work, Kyle has a medical consultancy company and developed an online teaching platform for lumbar punctures due to be launched early 2021. In 2019 he came runner up in the National GP trainee awards and is the youngest ever president of Torbay and District Medical Society since its establishment in 1842. Email:
