30 BigPitch The Health Education England Health Education England Health Education England (HEE) is the national body responsible for the education and training of the healthcare workforce in England. It exists to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England by ensuring that there are right numbers of the workforce for today and the future with the skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place. As an organisation, we are actively working towards becoming a digital first organisation; which means enabling our teams to continuously be in touch with how their functions supports delivery of services and continuous improvement of those services, either through fundamental and innovative change or incremental improvement. Further to our internal drive on innovation, digital and transformation, we must ensure that the NHS has a diverse, flexible workforce of staff and learners that embrace innovation to achieve excellent healthcare and health improvement, • by creating an education and training system that is evidence based and underpinned by evidence, digital and innovation • by building the capacity and capability of our current and future workforce to embrace and actively engage with research, digital and innovation We aim to deliver this through strong partnership and engagement with various partners and stakeholders and through our innovation, digital and transformation programmes; • Knowledge translation • Technology enhanced learning • Digital readiness • Blended and flexible learning • Workforce redesign As the Director of Innovation, Digital and Transformation, I believe the Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is developing a cadre of practitioners who are not only innovating in the health service delivery space but are also adding real value to innovations in the health education space. We were impressed recently with a variety of products developed in the education space pitched to us and pleased to be supporting some of the entrepreneurs in progressing their innovations. We look forward to seeing future cutting-edge products from the programme that continues to push the boundaries of innovation and challenge us to explore the possible.
