The NHS has a long-standing history of supporting innovation and pioneering new technologies. It is fantastic to see so many of our frontline staff continuing in this tradition with support from the programme. Sir Simon Stevens NHS Chief Executive Foreword We would like to welcome you all to our annual Clinical Entrepreneur Programme end of year event. The aim of this evening’s event is to acknowledge and celebrate some of the excellent accomplishments our Clinical Entrepreneurs have achieved this year. Since its launch in 2016, we have seen the programme grow in scale and impact as it has been opened up, through a phased roll out, to all NHS staff. The NHS is the world’s largest employer of professionals and our workforce is our greatest asset. To deliver on the ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan it is vital that we continue to equip our staff with the key skills, knowledge and experience to meet the needs of our patients now and in the future. That is why we made a commitment to expand the programme in the NHS Long Term Plan. This sends a clear message that we are both encouraging and enabling our staff to contribute solutions to the biggest challenges in healthcare.
