Brentwood Preparatory School Magazine

Brentwood School Preparatory Young voices! We arrived at school on Friday 20th January. We had lessons as normal, then we went to have lunch at the Main school, it was like a restaurant!! We got on the coach after lunch on our way to the O2; the coach journey wasn’t too long because it was fun looking at the sights as we came past, we made up a lot of games as well. After we got to the O2 we went to our seats, then we rehearsed for a few hours (we also did the world’s biggest mannequin challenge). Then it was the performance, big and bold performance. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!! After the performance we were all drained out. We got on the coach and came back to school Wow what a day !!!!!!! By Amber Penman and Frankie Kimberley As soon as I woke up, I was buzzing with excitement; I couldn’t wait to go to Young Voices. I could remember when I was in Year Three and the Year Fives were going to Young Voices and were very excited. I never thought I would be doing that! When we arrived at school, we were all chatting about Young Voices and imagining what it would be like. Our next step of the day was having lunch at the Senior School! So yummy. We were all still talking about Young Voices; how can you take your mind off something you can’t wait to do? You can’t! Then, it was time to go to the O2. It was so exciting. We sang the songs on the way and I brought some cards to play with to calm down the excitement. Then, we arrived! The O2 looked like heaven on Earth. Now, for the real thing! We sang all the songs; Five Guys Named Moe, Pop Medley, Maliswe, JT Remix and more. I will never forget Young Voices. by Achinta Kundra We went to school on a Friday morning and we had our first three (Double Music, Spanish) and then we went to the senior school for lunch. Afterwards we changed in to our young voices tops and split in to two groups. Then we got onto the two coaches. When we arrived at the O2 we went inside. We went through security and went to practise. The conductor was hilarious! He kept on telling jokes and did funny dancing. He also had a friend who was very funny and serious. At The O2 When the show started we looked for our parents. At the O2 we sang: Five Guys Named Moe, Sing, Over The Hills, Pop Medley, JT Remix, Ain’t No Mountain and more… We got to meet some famous stars like Natalie Williams and we got to meet Urban Strides. The teachers took picture and posted them on Facebook so our parents could see them and know were we are. Our experience at the O2 was awesome! We were exhausted when we got home. By Jaideep and Alex On 20th January we travelled by coach to the O2. In that long boring 45 minutes on the coach Mr Barber put on some songs for us to sing along to! We got to sing along so it turned boring into fantastic! On the way to the O2 we passed a handful of interesting things to look at. When we approached the O2 Mr Barber put on the muppet show opening! When we entered the O2 we had to be checked by going through a metal detector and they had to check our lunch bags. When we found our entrance we went for a toilet break. After that we gathered up together and waited in our seats until the practise started. When the rehearsal started we met the conductor and his name was David Lawrence. The first song we sang was Birdhouse in your Soul. Our favourite song was probably the pop medley or Birdhouse in your Soul. With the thousands of adults and children there our songs sounded absolutely amazing. By Jake and Solari A Fly on the Wall - Year Five 60
