Brentwood School Preparatory The Pirates of Penzance The Pirates of Penzance is a challenging show for any group of performers, let alone 10 and 11 year olds! However, we wanted to choose a show which would fit in with our 125 Year Celebration. We hope you agree that our pupils have risen to the challenge admirably (and have hopefully learned a little bit more about the Victorian Era along the way)! The play is about a young boy called Frederic who has lived at sea all his life and meets a young maiden called Mabel and they fall in love... but will he stick with his new love or to his sense of duty? We have performed to Key Stage 1 on Monday morning and to Key Stage 2 on Tuesday morning. On every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evening this week we have performed to our parents, the teachers, the governors and the headmaster. My favourite part of the play was singing and acting with ‘Cat-like tread’, all of the moves are so funny! Mrs Cooke has done a massive job in setting all the scenes and costumes and we will never forget this amazing performance that we, this year 6, got to perform. Many thanks to Mrs Cooke.
