Brentwood Prep Incipe 2019
Brentwood School Preparatory 32 House Reports Bayman has had another hugely successful year competing in a wide variety of events. The children’s hard work and commitment has resulted in a fantastic number of wins, and here are their highlights: Year Three House Football House football was a very exciting tournament. Our first match was against Lawrence. We scored the first one then Lawrence came back but they didn’t score. Our second match was against Quennell. There were two goals, we scored the first goal and we said, “Yes we are definitely going to win!” But Quennell came back with another goal. It ended 1-1. In our last match we played Heseltine. There were three goals. It took ages for either of us to score but Tom scored a free kick to put Heseltine in front. Then we came back with a good little shot and it went in, it was one all and then in the last minute we scored. “In fourth place is Lawrence,” announced Mr Sawyer. “We have joint second place with Heseltine and … Quennell,” said Mr Sawyer, “So that means Bayman win.” “WAHOOOOO!!” cheered Bayman. By Charles and Percy Year Four House Football All the teams worked as hard as they could but there could only be one winner. First we had Heseltine and we won 2-0. Callum scored both goals. Next up we had Lawrence, a good team but we defeated them 6-0. Callum scored five and Demi scored the sixth goal for Bayman. On our last match we had one of the toughest, Quennell. We went one nil up but then Shane got an equalizer for Quennell. However, Ben scored a 2-1 winner with 9 seconds remaining. After everyone had finished, all the houses got together and Mr Sealey announced the positions. In 4th place was Lawrence, 3rd was Quennell, and it was very close between Heseltine and Bayman, but we were victorious. By Ben Year Four Swimming Gala The Year Four swimming gala was tiring, hard and fun. Bayman won for Year Four, it was very close between Bayman and Heseltine, but Bayman just had more points. In the end the Year Sixes had a comeback and over all Heseltine won but we all remembered it is for fun and we all should be proud. By Louie and Markos Year Three Cross Country Cross country was very hard. I was exhausted but it only took me 5:50 minutes. I like cross country a lot, which helped and the sun was out which meant it was warm (good) and it made me exhausted (bad) - it was very good luck I had water! Before we started, I felt very nervous. We all sat down and we were talking about when you get stitches; breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth and then your stitch will go away. In the end I was really happy because I had finished and I got a trophy. Overall Bayman won and I was the happiest girl on earth. By Ore House Reading Competition Each house had to choose a book and two people from each year group would read parts of the book. Bayman chose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We had to practise our reading a lot to try to win. On the day, we each read our readings and I thought Bayman did very well. When we found out we had won, we were all very excited and really enjoyed the day! I really hope that there will be a House Reading Competition in the Senior School, because it was very exciting! By Austin Year Five House Netball Everyone was excited and looking forward to the afternoon of House Netball 2019! Bayman felt confident as we strode out onto the court for the first match against Heseltine! We knew this would be our toughest game but we were ready. After a fast moving first quarter Hesteltine had scored, skillfully Bayman came back quickly and equalised, the final score being 1-1! Eagerly, Bayman waited for their next match against Lawrence. The team worked together well and with accurate passing and great shooting we came out with a win!! Everyone was having fun and enjoying the netball. Finally, our last game was against Quennell, we knew if we worked hard as a team we had a chance of winning the match which would mean we could win overall! The match began and we went for it, we played well and managed to win again! Thanks to our amazing Bayman team we won the House Netball 2019! By Leni
