Brentwood Prep Incipe 2019
Brentwood School Preparatory 33 House Reports Bayman House Rugby This year all houses at Brentwood Preparatory played against each other in rugby, but only one house could be the winner. All years in KS2 participated in this house event. Each house played their best, wearing their house polo shirt proudly: blue for Bayman, red for Lawrence, green for Quennell and yellow for Heseltine. First in Year Four we played Heseltine. The final score was 16-18 Bayman. Then we played Quennell and we won 8-4 Bayman. Finally we played Lawrence and we won 18-4 Bayman. We all enjoyed this event and all played our hardest. By Markos and Callum. Year Three House Cricket Bayman won the toss and decided to field first so that meant Heseltine had the chance to bring some runs for their team. Despite Heseltine getting more runs than Bayman, we won, because we bowled four wickets!! Well done Heseltine, well played. The next Bayman match was against Quennell. First to bat were Oscar and Adi. Sadly Oscar was bowled out by Adam. Good bowling by Adam. It was a well fought match but eventually Bayman won because of a great catch from Johnny. That put us two runs ahead and Bayman were crowned champions! By Oscar, Percy and Charles Year Five House Cricket I was in the B team for Bayman and team captain. Our first match was against Heseltine who batted first. We were quite good at bowling and took some wickets, ending the game 22 - 34. So that took us to the 3rd/4th place against Quennell. We weren’t that good in the first two overs losing 3 wickets and on the final 4 overs (when Quennell were batting they hit four 6s and two 4s. It was a shame that we lost 25 - 51 but we enjoyed the day. By Max Sports Day On 26th June, Brentwood Prep School had their sports day. Three school records were broken by Tobi (Heseltine), one by Ayobami (Heseltine) and one by James (Lawrence) among others. Bayman won four relays which was good. In the tug of war, it was best of three. First Bayman played Heseltine, Heseltine won 2-0. After that, it was Quennell vs Lawrence. Lawrence won 2-1. Quennell won the third place play off and Heseltine won the tug of war shield for the second year in a row. Overall the places were: 4th Lawrence, 3rd Bayman, 2nd Heseltine and 1st Quennell. By Charles, Percy, Oscar and Adi This year for Lawrence has been another one of great effort and team spirit, which has, sadly, not contributed much silverware to the trophy cabinet. However, this has not been for lack of trying, and the pupils of Lawrence have competed well in all house competitions, and have been gracious in both triumph and defeat. Thank you to our Prefects and House Captains: James and Alex, Felix, Isabella, Leo, Katie, Aaron, Tabitha-Bea. House Hockey The Lawrence girls displayed fantastic resolve and perseverance during this competition, but their efforts were not rewarded on this occasion, finishing third. House Rugby Lawrence boys from each year group competed with the other houses to see which house would prevail as overall winner. Pupils from all years competed fiercely, meaning that Lawrence finished second, one place higher than last year. House Football Boys from each year group took turns to compete in the eagerly anticipated football competition. We finished 3rd overall, but an honourable mention must go to our Year Fives who managed to beat their competition by playing some great football. House Cricket It was great to see both boys and girls competing in this year’s house cricket competition, although the Year Four matches had to be abandoned due to a run of poor weather in June. Several individual performances stood out, but more practice will be needed to compete for silverware next year. Overall, the boys came third and girls fourth.
