Brentwood Prep Incipe 2019

Brentwood School Preparatory 72 Enrichment Week - Year Five At the beginning of the week, Year Five went to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour for a close look at the props and scenery that went in the films as well as participating in a behind the scenes workshop. The coach was filled with excited chatter, Harry Potter was the main subject matter. We all had some sweets and lunch, While we arrived with a suck and a munch. We got into our groups time to explore, “Stay together” the teachers implore. The Gringotts Bank monster was white and hairy, That sent my legs to jelly by being so scary. The red shiny paint of the Hogwarts Express, But goodness me Ron’s compartment, Was a total mess! The Forbidden Forest was as calm as can be, While the fog covered the ground and me. The sudden still smooth trees With Joe giving a frightening tease. So many wands and broomsticks, Doing flabbergasting tricks. What a wonderful day, I hope Harry Potter comes my way. By William Harry Potter Studios - Bloodhound - Mersea: three days of adventure Year Five’s first activity was Harry Potter World. In Harry Potter World there was the forbidden forest which was full of suspense, all the smoke was coming out of the trees so we crawled on the floor and hid. It was dark and gloomy and Aragog and his children were lurking in the depths of the woods. Hagrid’s trousers were massive! Gringotts bank was so scary as it had a holographic dragon that breathed fire. We looked at all the ballgowns and saw that Hermione is tiny. You had to find 13 golden snitches and there was a moving pictures room that was really cool. The second activity was the Bloodhound project. The designing of the racing cars was so much fun. The saw was so sharp it went red with heat. The thought of it chopping your hand off with ease was scary! Eva and I sanded the car way too much so unfortunately it started to crack. If you won the race at the end your car name would be painted on the actual Bloodhound car (ours was called the Red Flame.) The trip to Mersea was the best. There was a massive mud pit that was epic, we had to walk through it (it was so muddy it went to my waist!). The giant swing was great, I had jelly legs when I touched the ground. Caving was my least favourite because it was too tight and dark. The aerial adventure was my favourite because it was not scary and was fun but sadly I didn’t get very far on the climbing wall because I ran out of holders. Kit karts were my second favourite. In our free time we searched for crabs and oysters. I was happy because I eventually got brave enough and held a crab. By Rosanna
