Brentwood School Preparatory 76 Music Music at the Prep While wandering around Brentwood Prep it is very rare not to hear strains of music drifting through the playground and classrooms. As well as weekly music lessons for all, assemblies and choir rehearsals with Mr Barber and Mrs Bartlett, many children also enjoy music lessons in singing, piano and a variety of brass, woodwind and strings. These skills are showcased in our Musical Monday assemblies where all the staff and children enjoy performances by musicians from every year group. The talented children participate in regular concerts and performances including our Informal concerts in the library which build up the children’s confidence in performing in front of an appreciative audience of their parents and fellow musicians. Annual Junior and Senior concerts are always full houses, featuring the talents of the choirs, ensembles and soloists. Every production features music and singing, our choirs perform at evensong in chapel, open days, the Christmas Fayre and many other events throughout the year. At our beautiful Senior Carol Service, the Chamber Choir and all the children sang carols and shared readings with family and friends in a wonderful service to remind us all of the meaning of Christmas. The Year Five children experience the unforgettable Young Voices concert at the O2, a musical extravaganza to treasure!
