Brentwoodian 2019

112 Miss Hope was an enthusiastic, energetic and compassionate teacher who led the Learning Support Team. Although only at Brentwood School for a short time, she ensured she looked after every individual in her care, supported their learning and worked in partnership with students, colleagues and parents. A keen sportswomen, Miss Hope enjoyed her netball and hockey and was a valued member of the Sports Department. We wish her every success and happiness. Anna Hope Miss Kilkenny-Brown joined Brentwood School in 2018, and in a short time was loved by both staff and pupils alike. Her enthusiasm for Geography was infectious and inspired her pupils. She quickly took on responsibility at Brentwood School by taking a lead on KS3 Geography. In addition, she was the lead teacher on a trip to Iceland which created memorable geographical experiences for the pupils in Sixth Form. As well as her contribution to the Geography Department Miss Kilkenny-Brown, contributed to Athletics training and the running club. We wish her every success in the future with her new job. Sophie Kilkenny-Brown Mr Lai was a joy to have in the Maths department; he was very funny and friendly and always made people feel welcome. He had a good relationship with his students, really pushing them to achieve their best. He coached a football team and could often be seen at fixtures on a Saturday with his team. Mr Lai has left teaching to become a financial policy adviser for the Treasury and we wish him well in his new career. Tuan Lai Miss Panteli was at Brentwood School for two years as a teacher of Physics, but she did also teach some Mathematics. She was an active member of the Brentwood community, supporting afternoon girls’ games and coaching hockey teams as well as being a caring and supportive Form Tutor. She will be sorely missed by her students and colleagues alike, but we all wish her the very best as she embarks on a new career, to become an actuary in the city of London. Cassandra Panteli Ms Sorohan returned to Brentwood School in 2008 as Head of Business Studies and a Teacher of Economics having previously held the position of Deputy Head of Sixth Form during her earlier time at the School. Very recently, she had also returned to the role of Exams Liaison Officer. Ms Sorohan led a series of programmes to help promote enterprise at the School, including the Young Enterprise Scheme and the CISI Financial Services qualification. Michelle Sorohan Mr Letts joined Brentwood school two years ago as Head of Sixth Form Physics. He immediately became a central figure in the Physics department and a highly respected member of staff. While he was not marking ‘so fast smoke is seen coming off the pen’ (his words) he could be found running support sessions, singing or coaching cricket or rugby. He has moved to Australia and will be missed by the Physics department and the many people he worked with. Basil Letts
