116 Mrs Appleton loves her job, as it allows her to do lots of different subjects, but her passion is Maths. Aside from Maths, she also loves swimming and dancing. Although she doesn’t have pets any more, she used to have a cockatiel, a rabbit, a hamster, stick insects and a cat. She enjoys watching movies and her favourite ones are Mamma Mia , Grease and The Theory of Everything. Her last meal on earth would be roast chicken and all the trimmings. Her funniest memory is being on holiday with her parents, playing pool, and her mum getting the white ball down with every shot! If she could have any superpower, she’d want to be invisible. She would like to be remembered for being patient and kind. Frances Appleton Mrs Austen loves teaching both English and Drama; English, because she loves words and their power to express universal, and often very personal, emotions in the most perfect way and Drama, because it allows her to step into other people's worlds, if even for a moment. Mrs Austen’s last meal on earth would be XXL Papa Johns - Garden Party (no tomatoes, add pineapple) with Sweet Chilli Sauce for dipping (not that she’s thought about it!). She has two big, white, hairy dogs called Zoya and Olga and enjoys gaming and running. Her funniest memory was wearing her shoes on the wrong feet for a whole day at work and only realising when she got home and put her feet up on the coffee table. She would want to be remembered for her good fashion sense (shoes on wrong feet aside) and her positive approach to life. The best gift she could receive from her students would be their love of learning. Lauren Austen Favourite quote : Live well, laugh often, love much. Advice for students : It takes courage to stand out from the crowd, it is easy to follow everyone else. Be brave! Advice for students : Don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd and take time to listen and learn from people with different experiences. Oh - and always stay curious - never stop wondering why.
