79 There was considerable success for South House during East House week. Most notably, House Chess saw South achieve first place with a strong team of Jaideep Cheema, Alex Blee, Dmitri Molostvov, Chris Danquah, Alice Moorhouse, Millie Usher-Tollan, Nat Hughes and Fin Hughes. In addition to this, South achieved 4th place in a very strongly competed House Golf competition on Thursday 23rd May at Thorndon Park Golf Club. The team comprising of Harrison O’Shea, Fin Stronach and Will Pepper played extremely well in the face of some tough competition. House Tug Of War also proved very popular with pupils, with numerous students taking part from the Juniors, Middles and Seniors. The Senior Team honed their technique very well and was only narrowly defeated in the final by an extremely powerful School House team. Overall, South achieved 4th place in East week, competing with undoubted enthusiasm and team spirit as always!  By Ellie Gelber The students of South House thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Weald Week. The juniors (Evie Jarman, Abinhay James, Grace Kingaby and Jayan Gaur), Middles (Shafi Hasan, Sam Pepper, Edith Bressau and Francesca Stanford) and Seniors (Grace Parrish, Lucy Twyford, Callum Balsom and Piers Brown) all participated in House Tennis, where they came 2nd overall.  As competitive spirits rose, South House students continued to compete in Weald’s House Dance Competition. Juniors (Grace Allen, Tallulah Mootoo, Sophia Jones), Middles (Amelia Blee, Sophie Farquhar, Louisa Allen) and Seniors (Megan Buntrock, Michelle Kafe, Adona Aseerwatham and Megan Beardwell) composed their own original choreographies and battled against other dancers. Overall, our students finished in 2nd place and had a fantastic time participating alongside their friends. A Dodgeball competition was also created for students to compete in. The Senior team (Harry Gough, Ryan Fedi, Chris Danquah, Tom Adams, Toby Kidd, Tom Ridgewell, Will Steinberg and Dan Hawkins) worked together extremely well and, after a tense and exciting final against North South Charity St Francis Hospice House, finished in first place. Well done South!  Weald Week ended with a marvellous Easter egg hunt, in which our Juniors - Mobolu Olowoyeye, Olivia Sorae, Preet Kahlom, Evie Jarman and Tilly Fisk - came in 1st place.  Overall, Weald Week was an occasion which was enjoyed by all - a huge thank you to South House students who took part in these events!  By Megan Buntrock House Track and Field, the final hurdle of the House event calendar. South House enjoyed mixed success in this competition with some amazing individual performances and a hearty team effort to gain 5th place, beaten narrowly by East and Weald.  Both the First Year girls and boys competed really well, taking part in each and every event.
