100 A memorable year for the House system for many different reasons, some of them obvious others less so. The House BAC weeks are a real highlight of the year and the Heads of House and Deputies certainly had to put their thinking caps on to come up with a variety of ‘mostly’ virtual events or face-to-face events confined to ‘bubbles’. I would like to thank Miss Cooper, East’s Deputy Head of House and Lauren Ager our House Captain. Despite concentrating on her A Levels she devoted so much time and effort to the House - thank you Lauren. North kicked off the show in November and the year was finished withWest the following June. AgainWeald seemed to come away with the coveted House Cup, once all the scores had been tallied. North’s headline event was, and always has been the famous Lip Sync battle - a great fun event with lots of participants and plenty of spectators. The Battle Blitz style Chess competition, that is now a regular feature in every House BAC week, is a fantastic opportunity for many students to show off their logic and reasoning skills. It’s a real favourite here in East House; we won each of the six events except one and there’s a stewards’ enquiry about that particular round - a member of staff making the difference? Another memorable event for me was the first ever House Snowman Competition. The amazing ‘Ice Colosseum’ that Joanna Burgess built in her back garden and submitted was sadly deemed ‘not to be a snowman’. The funny thing is we managed to take first place
