Brentwoodian 2021

102 South to support Miss Hanly in her new role as Head of House. I have spent many a mile walking along the corridor to the Art department to clarify many a thing - mostly what I should be doing this week or that! Miss Cooper you will be sorely missed by myself and all the students in East - I’ll see you on the battlefield! By Mr J J McCann Due to the ongoing Pandemic, sadly House Music this year was unable to go ahead as usual. Fortunately, the Music department was as creative as ever and moved the whole event online. This was a difficult task for the Upper Sixth Captains to contend with due to the extra difficulties with recording, but the East Captains did a great job. It was live streamed on YouTube and over 4,000 people watched, more than would physically be present in the Courage Hall. PartSong was led by Neo Merrell, singing And So It Goes by Billy Joel.We came joint third, but there was barely any time to celebrate before we were back for Ensemble, led by Emma Bowie-Britton. She had arranged an amazing medley of video game music which I think everyone would agree was fun to play.We again came joint third, putting us in a strong position going into the Unison section. This was directed once more by Neo Merrell, leading (very) enthusiastically from the front and putting us firmly in joint second place. Overall we came joint third, with Emma Bowie-Britton receiving the best arrangement award which was definitely deserved. We’re very much looking forward to next year,
