107 East week hosted a few exciting events, one of which was Tug ‘O’War. Dr Bryan got heavily involved in this and his rousing speeches are surely why we did so well.We were also very excited about the Rounders tournament and again, there was plenty of enthusiasm from West. In June, it was West House’s turn to host a House week. This was extremely successful and it saw the introduction of a new Headline event - Art Attack. Due to our House charity being the EssexWildlife Trust, we decided on the theme of animals. There were some really super creative ideas from the Year 7’s and the winners were East with their beautiful and inspired butterfly: West decided on a marine theme and made aWest House blue Dory from ‘Finding Nemo’. And here is our final piece of art (complete with jelly fish made from swimming caps and coral made from bath sponges) There were a couple of House events this year that were longer running than the usual ones. One of them was the Reading Challenge (which is also being run again this year - so get reading,Westies!) and the other one was a Step Challenge. These were fantastic to get both pupils and staff involved.
