112 years, especially toWeald. They summarised our Unison here: Lucas: “I was so happy to be the coleader of House Unison for Weald last year, but I must admit I was very speculative of doing House Music during a global pandemic. However, through the determination of the many of the teachers, staff and students we were able to create the first, and hopefully last,Virtual House Music. I think my favourite part of leading the Unison was when all theWeald Upper Sixth turned up in the last seconds of lunch to record the song, showing the unquestionable commitment to the House. The effort fromYear 7 and Upper SixthWealdites in the House Unison was immense and their performance of I’m Still Standing will be a memory I will never forget.” Beth: “This year has been so wonderfully weird; a socially distanced House Music was a brilliant way to start the year, after spending so much time in lockdown. Although the event didn’t follow the usual format, I was so happy to be able to actually take part in House Music, and to lead unison with my close friend, Lucas Ring. It was a House decision for our song to be I’m Still Standing, and how fitting after the year we’ve all had! I was touched by the commitment from the Year 7s, as joining a new school is scary in itself, but also having to sing and dance in front of new people is daunting. As a House, we couldn’t have asked for more from our Year 7s or the Upper Sixth.” We achieved joint second place overall and a great start to the year! A HUGE well done to everyone that took part, another judge may have awarded us first place; regardless, you are truly talented and I could not have asked for any more - well done!
