Brentwoodian 2021

115 to behold and our quiz teams were outstanding. Thank you all for playing - I am always so impressed by your general knowledge! House FIFA and GeoGuessr were also popular events duringWeald week, a shout out to Mr Herson, Mr Harvey and Mr McNiff for nearly beating the (actual) ex-professional Mr Childs and to Miss Priddle for smashing the staff GeoGuessr. Thank you to the legendary Jenson Martell for designing the map! So, of course we wonWeald BACWeek overall and our charge for the House Cup was gathering momentum… ...onto South House BACWeek - could we win their week? Why even consider answering that?! The reason why we did so well is not because of the (very) talented students that we have, but because the students inWeald are courageous and push themselves out of their comfort zones - they try something new. ‘Just Dance’ and ‘A Moment of Sporting Brilliance’ are examples of just that. Lucas Ring and his JonnyWilkinson moment are almost as brilliant as that unforgettable moment in 2003…! And Lucas, I would personally like to thank you for everything you gave toWeald. Straight into East BACWeek. Daisy-Rose Ireson-Hughes and Sammy Li (you will do well to find a more brilliant musical combo in school) produced a wonderful ‘Brentwood’s Got Talent’ entry - I think Miss Coverson has finally stopped crying over the performance. Rounders and Tug of War are House favourite events and up step theWealdites who have been flexing muscles all year for this. The Tug of War title is prestigious and we were not going to give up on the crown from last year. I can’t wait for the staff event this year! Rounders was summed up by theWeald’ Year 10. On the day of their event - crisis - Covid hits - we have just one player...panic email from Mr Wright (and a headless chicken around school) before a team
