Brentwoodian 2021

117 record on his second jump and then again broke the record on his final third jump finishing with a leap of 6.08m! Joe’s Year 10 Boys’ 4x100 relay team also smashed the school record with an unbelievable time of 48:45 secs - the quickest of the whole day. Amelia Murphy’s sensational 50.04 secs in the 300m also broke the school record and Joe finished by running a 11:08 in the 100m sprint. With contributions from everyone and by theWealdites who stepped up and pushed themselves with every single ounce of energy we finished second overall - our best place for years. This also meant that we secured the House Cup for the third year in a row! Success of Weald House is down to each and every one of theWeald students and staff, but it also requires superb leadership and I could not have asked for a better group of House Captains. Freya Collins was in charge of Media and Promotions - and what a job she did. But this was secondary to everything else she gave to the House. A true credit to the School, and, along with Amelia, two Vice-House Captains worthy of leading the House. Thank you both. I am truly in debt to Our House Captain, Alfie. His commitment was second to none. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Alfie. The final piece of the wonderful Weald jigsaw last year was our Deputy, Mr McNiff. His passion due to lockdown you might not all have seen, but it was felt by everyone. My sidekick (and apparent other half) gave everything to the House. Good luck Mr McNiff, you are sorely missed.
