118 “It feels very odd to be writing this having left Brentwood last summer, particularly following this year’s House Music competition. Being back in person, I was gutted not to be involved in supportingWeald this year! I just want to say a massive thank you to everybody who took part in all the House competitions and events over the course of last year - both virtually and in person! On all occasions each and every one of you who represented the House did so in the very best way possible - full of enthusiasm, competition and a strong sense of integrity throughout. Looking back there are so many highlights I could pick out but to name a few key ones - the extravagantly decorated House Christmas tree adorned with the image of a grinning Mr Wright, the raucous supporters in House Fifa, and of course the outstanding PartSong performance in House Music last year. And then to top it all off, the madness of House Track and Field at the end of last term. Again, thank you for all you do to makeWeald awesome - where there is a Weald there is aWay!!!” I hope you have recognised that this year winning the House Cup is secondary to what we have all experienced. But, to have had the most signups across 54 House events is a title we can be immensely proud of. It was the challenge I set you in the opening assembly to be the House to set the standard, and you smashed it. Really well done. I would like to thank all of you for relentless commitment and enthusiasm over this year and how you raised your game during virtual events and those under Covid restrictions.What an effort, THANKYOU to all of you (including family members - especially Ron Burgundy aka Mr Howard!) who took part. The efforts were enough to seal the overall House Cup. Champions again.
