Brentwoodian 2021

136 Miss St. Clair Jones joined Brentwood in 2016 and her subject knowledge, energetic approach and commitment to helping all her students reach their potential made her a very popular teacher of Biology throughout the School. She also did an excellent job as our Head of Research and Development, which made Brentwood one of the leading schools in the country in terms of ongoing professional development for teachers. Given her love of learning, it’s perhaps no surprise that Miss St. Clair Jones left us in order to complete her PhD and we wish her every success and happiness as she does so. Mr Whetnall was a conscientious and talented member of the Classics Department for three years, teaching Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation up to Sixth Form level. His energy and ideas, both as KS3 Coordinator and in other areas, thoroughly enriched the Department. He also contributed significantly to the House system, as an excellent Head of North, and to school sport. He returns to his previous school, Eton College, with our good wishes for the future. Mr Harvey was an integral part of the School within and beyond the Physics Department. He was also hugely involved with after-school sport as well as the co-curricular Physics clubs including Rocketry club, Problemsolving club and helping students prepare for Oxbridge. We wish him every success as he moves on to be Head of Physics at Beaulieu Park School.
