139 Mrs Dobson joined us as a PGCE student and successfully navigated both her training and NQT year with flair and skill. Her 'can do' attitude and willingness to get involved saw her become a DofE Bronze lead, participate in Games and play a pivotal role in developing our screen printing facilities. Mrs Dobson is an optimist, who also has a steely determination to do everything to the very best of her ability and was often heard to be uttering the words “you got this” to students and colleagues. Mrs Dobson left us to take up a teaching role at KEGS in Chelmsford and she will be sorely missed by the entire Art team, as well as plenty of others around the School. Ms Howells joined the School as Head of Department for Food and Nutrition in September 2020. This was a very challenging time for the School as children returned, having spent the previous term in lockdown, getting to grips with online learning. There were lots of changes to how the Food Department worked with fixed practical bubbles and sanitising impacting on schemes of work and ways of working. This was followed by another term of online teaching before students returned to face-to-face teaching. Despite these challenges, Ms Howells established good relationships with her students. Her enthusiasm for the subject engaged and inspired students and the support she gave them boosted their confidence in the subject. We wish her luck with her future endeavours. Mrs Dobson Ms HOwells
