Brentwoodian 2021

The Chemistry Department welcomes Miss Harrison, who will also be Leading the DofE Silver Award this year. Her favourite thing about teaching is that she loves being able to watch pupils grasp concepts they may not have previously understood. In addition to this, she enjoys seeing pupils grow into well-rounded, confident individuals, both inside and outside the classroom. Outside of school she likes to swim and sail, having had instructors in both since the age of 16. It was this that inspired her passion for teaching others new skills. In her spare time, Miss Harrison enjoys going on long walks, horse riding and visiting a nice pub garden. Her all time favourite meal would be a roast chicken dinner. Her favourite film is Bring It On! She has two springer spaniels, Lily who is four and Bracken who is two. We welcome Mr Chan to the Mathematics Department and as a CCF RAF Officer this year. Mr Chan wanted to be a teacher ever since he was a secondary school student himself. Appreciating Mathematics is at the back of most, if not, all things. And Mathematics is definitely at the back of all flying activities. It wasn’t until he was working in an investment bank 23 years ago, that he encountered an opportunity to teach part-time in a university. That was the beginning of his teaching career. In his spare time he likes to be with his family or out with nature. Mr Chan can often be found crooning along to his favourite song: Moon River. When he isn't doing that, he might be watching his favourite film The Hunt for Red October. He has a 12 year old chocolate-coloured mini poodle, Choko and he sounds precious! 143
