Dr Gergley is new to the Mathematics Department this year. Not only that, but he will also be running Chess Club and Gardening. Dr Gergley is a strong believer that teaching should encourage students to further their potential. He also thinks that children should enjoy their learning, achieving the best possible academic outcomes that they can. His own love of learning made him passionate about teaching. He was very lucky to be encouraged and inspired by his teachers, who had a massive positive impact on him, and he hopes to emulate this himself. A lover of many hobbies, Dr Gergley enjoys shopping in IKEA and assembling the furniture. He is an avid reader of books about the Universe and Science. He also enjoys gardening and charity work. His favourite song is You've Got a Friend by Carole King. His favourite film is Around theWorld in 80 Days by Frank Coraci. His proudest achievement was helping his partner learn to swim in spite of her aqua-phobia. Now she enjoys swimming not only in a pool but in the sea, too! Mr Jupp is joining the PE department this year as well as being a Year 7 tutor. The most enjoyable part of teaching for him is helping students to learn and giving them the confidence to explore. He got into teaching via local community connections. In his spare time he likes to go travelling and on long drives, possibly while listening to his favourite song GoYour OwnWay by Fleetwood Mac.
