Ms Cash joins us in the Economics Department. Miss Cash was working as a debating coach when she realised her love of working with students. She enjoys the way Economics helps students understand the world around them. Outside of the classroom you can find her reading, walking, cooking and exploring the UK in her spare time. Her favourite song is Waterloo by ABBA (the perfect pop song FYI); her favourite film is Argo; and her greatest achievement to date is that she once accidentally climbed a mountain in fashion sandals - oh the blisters! Ms Micallef will be part of the Economics Department this year. She finds inspiring her students with Economics in order to help them understand the world, is the most enjoyable part of her role as a teacher. By doing this, it enables her students to understand people, businesses, markets and governments, and therefore better respond to the opportunities that emerge in their lives! Ms Micallef became a teacher after she was overheard explaining accounting to her friends by an Ofsted Inspector on the tube. Her hobbies include reading and learning about history, as well as baking and exploring new places. Ms Micallef also enjoys organising all sorts of events ranging from charity balls to family gatherings. She enjoys eating her mother’s ‘Gateau Marie’. If she could have any super power, it would be Mind Reading. Her motto is to always leave a sparkle wherever she goes which, for her, means always making someone feel better after she has left. 147
