Ms Nicholls will be part of the English Department as well as coaching Year 9 Netball and the Equestrian Club. When she was 14 she decided she wanted to be an English teacher, and has never really wavered from that! Ms Nicholls feels that English is such a great subject because it is based a lot around discussion! Hearing how students interpret set texts and poems is so refreshing - she can learn as much from them as they can from her, and there are not many subjects that have that! Outside of school she loves horse-riding, nature photography and reading (obviously!). In addition to her hobbies, Ms Nicholls also looks after her dog (Charlie - the love of her life!), but he has just moved to Lanzarote to live with her parents! She is absolutely heartbroken, but will be seeing him soon. Ms Nicholls also enjoys eating mint choc chip ice cream while binge watching the US Office. Mr Nolan is part of the PE department and also Head of Cricket. His favourite part about teaching is the practical nature of his subject/role. In addition to this, he also enjoys working with students outside the classroom. Mr Nolan loves sport and played at a relatively high level of cricket himself. This love of learning and coaching here inspired him to become a teacher. Outside of work he enjoys playing more competitive sports and socialising with friends. His favorite music is anything by the Arctic Monkeys particularly Fluorescent Adolescent. If he could take anything to a desert island, it would be his iPAD, hopefully not his work one! His favourite film is Gladiator. 148
