Brentwoodian 2021

42 Every year Brentwood School Squash continues to grow and branch out further into the School, especially with respect to girls getting involved. This year, however, we suffered a huge COVID hit, where it was very difficult to play Squash, however we managed to play under certain conditions (training within year group bubbles, specific games that minimised the risk of spreading COVID, sanitizing regularly, etc.).We were very lucky to have our own courts as many schools/professionals around the country struggled to continue their squash training. Furthermore, not only did we manage to play during difficult circumstances, we also received new equipment to help us train; this included new goggles, various balls, squash team t-shirts and two brand new ball machines. These ball machines have helped massively, as they help to train more specific shots which we might be weak on, in a more directed way. Next, another key event during the year, was our newly-renovated squash courts. The courts were completely refurbished throughout the year and we got new lights and painted walls. Squash
