Brentwoodian 2021

our second term of training in the Trinity term instead of the Lent term! The term culminated with Henry and Scarlett Pratt taking up their places at the finals of the National Schools Leagues in Birmingham on 19th June with both finishing in the top 10 for their age groups! Captains Ollie Sparks and Evelyn Golledge were stalwarts at weekly training throughout last year, providing invaluable support to me and taking excellent care of the younger team members. They both lead by example with their kindness, inclusive attitude, humility and service and both received half colours for their ongoing commitment to the team. I must take this opportunity to thank the parents of the team members, many of whom stay and socialise in the cold at the edge of the slope on Tuesday training nights and who help me to grow the team and increase our representation at racing events. It is also much appreciated by all the team members when parents bring home-bakes to training! Finally, my thanks to Mr Hill, Miss Faulkner and Miss Cutbill who helped supervise training in a tricky and disrupted year. The future of the team continues to be BRIGHT - competing in the ISA Indoor Ski Competition in October and being entered into the Independent Schools Ski Competition in Les Deux Alpes in December - we have everything crossed for this event to go ahead, so we can win more medals and bring back more trophies for Brentwood School! But those competitions are for the next edition… By Mrs Hill 45
