46 It is a new and exciting era for tennis at Brentwood School which has seen our tennis teams continue to grow from strength to strength. This year, we entered both a boys and girls Senior tennis team in the School National Cup competition. Our Senior girls’ team, consisting of Edie Griffiths (Year 8), Hannah Burke (Year 11), Araminta Smalley (Year 11), Evie Jarman (Year 11) and Azra Ozerin (Year 12), came extremely close to securing themselves a place at the National Championships after victories against Weald of Kent Grammar School and Kent College School. The quarter-final tie, held at the University of Kent, was one of the most memorable matches of the season.With the match levelled after the singles and doubles at three all, the girls had to contest a shootout for a place in the semi-finals. Edie and Hannah teamed up as first and third seeds which saw them play in an extremely tense championship tie break, winning 10-8 to book our place in the semi-finals vs Sevenoaks School. Despite a brave effort in the semi-finals, the senior girls lost to a very strong Tennis
