63 The Lower Sixth were split between the Eco Committee and Amnesty International, as they broadened their horizons to social, political and environmental issues. The Eco Committee worked together to play its part in fighting against climate change, re-writing the School’s sustainable travel plan. They produced informative videos and organised a school-wide step competition and Amnesty have been campaigning for human rights by writing letters to various political figures. We also introduced the Eduspots global awareness courses during lockdown, which enabled Sixth Form students to communicate with other service students, including those in Ghana, and to raise awareness of global issues such as Postcolonialism and working on projects for Social Entrepreneurship. The fun did not stop during the Summer term as we were able to enjoy numerous activities during our fantastic field days! We explored the importance of empathy with the charity ‘Empathy Action’, which made us as a whole VSA feel empowered to help others and how lucky we are as pupils of Brentwood School and we had a fun Team-Building day to let off some steam! We can’t wait to see what next year brings! By Eesha,Tami, Lila and Saadhya, Upper Sixth
