66 have a charity week using a JustGiving page. Although we were not sure how successful online donations would be, the mighty Mr Whetnall and his team managed to raise £415, and set the bar high for the other Houses! In terms of whole-school fundraising, our Christmas Jumper Day was able to go ahead, and we raised an excellent amount for The Royal Marsden hospital. Finally, the staff Christmas single, put together and significantly auto-tuned (in some cases!) by the Music department boosted fundraising further. Finally, our Festive Food Bank drive had an element of competition between the Houses, withWest being the winners, over-filling their donation bins. All of the donations were gratefully received by the Brentwood Food Bank, who are incredibly busy at the moment. The Lent term meant we were separated once again, due to another lockdown. That said, Alexandra and Katherine Hak used their initiative to raise money for their annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser for The British Heart Foundation and once again got the staff involved to produce a rendition of L.O.V.E, as well as anonymous Valentines that could be sent to students and staff. The total raised was £1,652, an amount to rival the years when we have been in school! Once we were able to return, the focus was on fundraising for this term’s charity, The Alzheimer’s Society. As well as a 100km walking challenge during the month of March, and a virtual edition of The Masked Singer, our ‘Denim for Dementia’ day raised an awe-inspiring £2,148, the most money we have ever raised for one of these events! A special mention must also go toWeald House, who ran an Easter Egg donation drive for the Brentwood Food Bank for their charity week, ensuring that all children in the area received a chocolate treat!
