The Hough boys took it in their stride and kept positive and showed unprecedented maturity.We were all living on a knifeedge because any positive Covid test would have resulted in the whole House having to quarantine, and the fact that we made it to Christmas is because the boys followed all the hand-washing guidelines and generally supported and looked after each other. We managed to get as many boys home as possible and those who couldn’t were to spend Christmas with guardians. Over the Christmas holiday the Prime Minister announced a second UK lockdown which meant a few days frantically trying to contact all our boarders overseas and then those who were still in the UK.We opened our doors again on 1st January and we had about ten boys with us until the lockdown lifted on 8th March and most of the boys returned to finish the rest of the School year.
