97 WealdWeek followed, with some new additions to the House competitions, including recreating a movie scene as well as house Fifa. Special performances were noted from Rajan Shergill and Jake Griffiths as well as many others who dominated other Houses. Overall we came second, just falling short of a victory by North. At South House we pride ourselves on innovation, we introduced a number of new House events into the mix. One event that attracted a lot of attention was ‘The Best Fifa Goal’ drawing in hundreds of submissions from across the Houses. Judged by an independent adjudicator, the School’s resident Fifa Pro, Mr Childs decided on an absolute rocket of a freekick from 45 yards out. Our House week also included debut events such as ‘Just Dance’ and Recreations of Sporting Brilliance with Jem Ozcoch’s and GeneWatts’ submission receiving the most amount of votes. Tennis was another event run, with Southites such as Grace Kingaby, Saadhyasri Venkatesh, Alex Mead and Sam Pepper representing the house. Overall South HouseWeek was a success, seeing a large number of participants from each House taking part. East House week saw us participate in activities such as Tug of War, as well as Rounders, which took place during year group games sessions and saw a competitive element come out of all who were involved. Congratulations to the Lower Sixth team for winning their year group competition. Overall South came third in Rounders. Tug of War was a fierce competition of raw strength. In fact so much strength was exerted that the rope itself, that had been used by the School for years, maybe even decades, snapped! The final House week was organised byWest House. Events such as the Lower Sixth House quiz, Art attack
