Brentwoodian 2022

The School swimming teams have had an extremely successful first year back after Covid and the students have enjoyed the return to swimming. The junior teams have stepped up to compete in many prestigious galas, resulting in the junior boy’s team winning gold and silver at the East Region Finals in their front crawl and medley relays respectively. This resulted in the team qualifying for the National finals, where they placed 14th in the country, an amazing achievement for our younger swimmers. The School team also had some outstanding individual performances including 14 county swimmers who competed in February at the Essex County Championships, with a special mention to Tobi Olajide, winning the 400m individual medley and earning himself a silver medal in 50m backstroke. Through the year a total of 19 school records have been broken since September 2021, with both Angus Robertson and Jacob Stephen breaking three records each. Towards the end of the season, Brentwood School swimming team concluded a successful year by beating St. Martin’s and Becket Keys in order to retain their title of District Champions for the 15th year running. Our success in this area did not stop with the District Championships, with the School placing first in the MESSA League, an achievement that all of our swimmers are proud of. Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed this year for the team, and we are looking forward to another great year ahead.
