This year for the U13 Girls’ Cricket team has been a fun and eventful one, the Girls should be proud of the progress and improvements that they made as the season progressed. The Girls played against some extremely tough opposition, but pushed themselves and competed extremely well in almost every match. Hopefully with another full winter of training, the Girls can progress and make big contributions to the U15 team next year. U13 GIRLS This year’s U13A’s had a somewhat mixed season - never quite getting performances together, from a team perspective, all at the same time, except in the Essex Cup. Ultimately we had a 65% win average but remained unbeaten throughout the Essex Cup campaign where we were crowned Essex U13A Champions after defeating Shenfield in the final. We now look forward to progressing in the National Cup and making it further in the competition, we have the talent to do just that so we are confident of a further Cup run. The season, despite the mixed results, highlighted some great individual performances and far too many to mention them all. Jack Carpenter led the way with both the bat and ball, being both the team’s leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets and run-scorer with the bat with 216 runs, and that’s despite playing a handful of games for the year above, an excellent feat and an exciting project for the future I am sure you will agree. Christian Edinburgh picked up the best figures for the season with 4 wickets for 6 runs against the Davenant Foundation on the team’s journey U13A 131
