This season the U13B team played eight games and won five. They started off the season slowly and lost their first game against Berkhamsted. Batting was the issue, with a number of players struggling to defend their wickets. However, as the season progressed the team bounced back and won a string of games. The highlight was against Forest School, where George Walker took a hatrick and ended up with 4 wickets in 2 overs. Overall the students can be very proud of their commitment and performances; hopefully they can winter well and come back even better next year. U13B The U12 cricket team enjoyed a spectacular season, winning 11 out of 12 regular fixtures (only losing to an U13 side of cricket scholars from Gosfield by a narrow margin) culminating in victory in the Essex Schools U12 Cup at Brentwood cricket club in early September. The early season started with a 148 run victory over local rivals Felsted where Anay Patel (Captain) scored 63 n.o. and Udai Atwal 20 n.o. In the 1st round of the Cup we enjoyed a 141 run victory over Great Baddow with Anay Patel scoring 63 n.o. and Bobby Harris a steady 22 n.o which gave us a good start. In reply Gt Baddow struggled after a tight opening bowling display by Lochlan Stronach. A comfortable ten wicket friendly win followed over New Hall where both Krishan Kumar and Will Jackson bowled tight opening spells. In the next round of the Cup we had a comfortable 9 wkt win over Chigwell. In the semi-final we again played well against New Hall enjoying a 10 wkt win. Further victories occurred with a tight match versus Ipswich School, where they came to our rescue with a knock of 45 runs. It was then onto the Cup final where Brentwood batted first scoring 122 for 3 from 20 overs. Our success was down to an opening partnership of 70 from Anay and Bobby on a difficult wicket. Anay went on to secure his 50 with some big hitting in the final overs. Tight bowling from Krishan Kumar and Will Jackson kept our opponents KEGS always U12A 133
