SOUTH HOUSE House Music With restrictions being lifted, House Music was back on in the Courage Hall. Our Partsong performance of What a Wonderful World, lead by Rosie Parrish (Upper Sixth), was phenomenal. Ellie’s lovely solo combined with the supporting harmony and wonderfully coordinated movement earned South a very well-deserved first place! Our Ensemble, performing The Lion King Medley arranged by Alex Lockyer (Year 11) and conducted by Cerys Jenkins (Upper Sixth), achieved fourth place. Alex’s incredible arrangement, without a single note being changed by Mr Cooper, won him the ‘Best Arrangement’ - an amazing achievement! Finally, Lara Wantling (Upper Sixth) and Connor Bartell’s (Upper Sixth) energy was infectious as the leaders of our Unison performance, Cecilia. Our Year 7s, with a little help from a few older Southies, did a sterling job - earning the House third position. Overall, South House came third - a great start to the year! A big thank you to our Upper Sixth leaders, Mr Revels and the Music Department for all of their support with this event - it was definitely enjoyed by all! 172
