of our Combined Cadet Force, led this service. In a moving service, our CCF laid a drum head altar in Chapel as our Chapel choir and musicians led us musically. This, together with a series of Choral Evensongs led by both the Chamber Choir and our Chapel Choir, have been important moments of reflection and prayer in the midst of our busy school life. The Chapel continues to be an important space in our School, both physically and metaphorically and so it was particularly exciting to be able to host a special evening of baroque music by Vivaldi, Bach and Charpentier, featuring talented Brentwood School scholars as soloists and directed by Grig Cuciuc. This was a very special evening and one that I hope we are able to repeat in the near future. This year we had two weddings in Chapel and I was delighted to be able to conduct the wedding of Vicky Hill and Ed Miller, both Old Brentwoods and the wedding of Florian Cooper and Louisa Jones, two wonderful and joyful occasions which help to remind us of the centrality of love. The year 2022 marks the 400th Anniversary of our School Statutes where the words, Virtue, Learning and Manners were first used in the context of this School. Throughout this anniversary year, a series of events have been held and this included a Service of Choral Evensong at St Peter’s Church, South Weald, a church with a long association with Brentwood School and with Sir Antony Browne, our founder, in particular. This service will be an annual one 192
