ensuring they took the Countryside Code very seriously when stopping for lunch and observing the wild flora and fauna on their journey. They had a great time setting up camp at Essex Outdoors and showing us all their camp craft that they had learned from the training sessions. There was a wide range of dinners being cooked, ranging from simple noodles to some very complex curries. The students then embarked on their Assessed expedition in June around the Roxwell area camping at Skreens Park for the Friday group and Kelvedon Hatch for the Monday group. The students were able to showcase all of the skills they had gained throughout the year and from feedback from their practice expedition. They were all highly commended by both campsite owners on their behaviour and the cleanliness of the campsites when they packed up the next day. These expeditions were a great success and enjoyed by all staff and students. Thank you to all the staff involved in this programme and well done to all of the students on achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. 199
