Heike Sheppard MFL Assistant Ms Sheppard first started at Brentwood School as a German assistant in 1997. For the last 25 years, she worked tirelessly to help prepare our Sixth Form Germanists for their speaking exams and ensured excellent outcomes in these. She was an invaluable member of the German Department, created outstanding resources and was involved in numerous school trips. Her knowledge and expertise were greatly appreciated, and her presence will be sorely missed. We wish her every happiness in her retirement. LEAVING STAFF 25 years Karen Semple Teacher of Classics and Latin Mrs Semple joined the school as a teacher of Classics and Latin in September 2000. She eagerly availed herself of all the opportunities that Brentwood had to offer, and soon became a House Mistress in Mill Hill. When Mrs Semple was a student at Brentwood, she was in the RAF Section as a cadet, so it was natural for her to join the RAF Section as an officer. Over the years, Mrs Semple held many positions of responsibility on the pastoral side; Deputy Head of Year 7, Deputy Head of Year 9/10, Head of Year 9/10, Head of Year 7 and, more recently, Head of the KS2/3 transition. As a long-standing member of Brentwood School, Mrs Semple will be greatly missed. 22 years 218
